The Scoop on the Outlet

The Outlet is a monthly publication; a platform for individuals seeking to change the world around them. Tell us what you are doing and how you are involved! This is the space for you to share your causes, your victories, strategies, work, joys, questions and rants. We want to hear about why you do what you do, what works and what doesn't, your newest favorite thing, what makes you outraged, and your hopes and inspirations.
Why we created The Outlet
The Outlet grew out of our need for a community of conscious, active, inspired people. We are tired of reading the same old blogs, full of cynical comments and pessimistic arguments. We wanted to seek and hear different perspectives, new ideas, and find people who were doing, not just talking.
With this blog we hope to build a community of people who can draw inspiration and support from one another. Whether it's visual art, a story, an essay, a photo, or a good joke, we know you have something to say, and we want to hear it!
The Outlet wants you!
The Outlet is accepting contributors. If you would like to submit something, please contact us at info@liquidwordsproductions.com with your ideas for future topics.
We are seeking writers, poets, photographers, artists, comedians, etc. to submit short stories, articles, poems, photos, jokes and more to add to the blog. Occasionally we'll provide the topic, but most often we want to hear from you!
All contributions are non-paid, but contributors will receive a bio and blogroll credit, and may be tapped for future projects.
In the interest of providing opportunities for as many writers and artists as possible, we will only be publishing the same contributor for two consecutive months. If you have been published for two months in a row, we ask that you wait one month before resubmitting.
Written submissions are limited to 1000 words. If you require more space, email us with your request and why. All submissions/pitches should be e-mailed in the body of the e-mail or as a Microsoft Word document or pdf file attachment. Submissions are limited to two per topic.
Byline given
A 45-word bio will be included for each contributing author (pieces will not be posted without them), and contributor's blog/sites will be listed on our blogroll.
Rights
Contributors keep the rights to their work, although we ask that the piece(s) not be submitted for publication in another venue for three (3) months from the time it ran with The Outlet.
Editing
We reserve the right to edit selected submissions for punctuation, spelling and content. We also reserve the right to reject any submissions.
What's next, you ask?
We've got big dreams, baby! In the future, we want The Outlet to include an advice column where you can ask, "how do I...?" and get prompt, intelligent answers. We will also sponsor contests and hold events. There is much more to come!
