Have you ever seen the Family Guy episode where Lois teaches sex ed at James Woods High? It's so hilariously funny, but tragically true at the same time. It seems only abstinence-only and fear-mongering tactics are used in so many schools instead of presenting accurate information. I graduated more than a decade ago, but I remember we only had two weeks of sex ed during my entire four years in high school. It's no wonder I was clueless about it. I'm just glad I didn't end up pregnant or with an STD as the result of the lack of education given to me on the subject.

I find it tragic that we avoid talking to our children about the tough subjects. We expect them to go out in the world and make good decisions based on what exactly?

when i was young the neighborhood dads (mainly and my dad and our George) got together and built a floating diving platform on the lake.

and then someone spray painted on it "FUCK"

i was maybe 7 8 at best and asked Dad what "Fuck" meant

His response was "Ask your sisters"
and thats all we have ever talked about sex in my 46 years

(as an aside you know how much I love my dad one of the best people i've ever known)

but back then you didn't say things like "Son this thing between your legs may grow at some point in time"

you have a gift.

one in four homeless people are a US veteran.

and the entire military only makes up less than ONE PERCENT of the population. the math is startling.

that is how we thank our veterans.

Learning how to drive in a foreign country is commendable. Learning how to do so in the British Isles? Probably unwise. I think I would opt to learn in China, India, probably even Manhattan before I took on Wales.
